Busy Weekend

This weekend was one of Mom and my last ones up at college. Between the holidays and trips home, we really won't have anymore chances to explore the area before moving out so we tried to make the most of it.

First we headed into the city. We went over the pedestrian bridge and into the park where Mom insisted on picture taking. Because I am so cute, I obliged.

After that we went back into the city and explored. I don't know where Mom got all her energy from, but I was not having any of that. We did a few blocks and then I gave Mom "the look" letting her know I was tired and ready to go back to the car. I better find a lazy partner in the future, I can't handle all this activity every day!

I was still pretty tired the next day when we went to visit Yara. I basically ignored all her play bows and happily chewed on her bone. Did I mention Yara has the best bones?!?! After "playtime" (I'm not really sure you can call it that anymore...) we went to the park. We played in the water for a bit and got really muddy. Mom and Yara's mom decided this constituted a pit stop at our apartment for a bath. Luckily, I wasn't that dirty so I just got hosed down. Poor Yara had to get the whole rinse-lather-repeat routine since she has all that fur! We both managed to survive the ordeal, though. I even managed a little playtime before Yara left.

When she did leave, I was ticked to see everyone leave without me! Mom has been trying to get me used to staying home alone without being in my kennel, so she figured I could handle the twenty minutes it would take to drop Yara and her mom off. I did just fine (of course!), but I would have rather taken a ride.

I'm an agility dog too!

Irie is on the Disabled List for the next few weeks. She has a boo-boo in her leg that makes her limp a lot. What does this have to do with me? Well, I get to take over her spot in agility class! I'm not nearly as fast as Irie, but I can do all of the obstacles. Everyone at class thinks I am so cute and all the dogs share their cookies with me. Now I know why Irie loves coming to class every week! Mom is going to try to get some pictures of me doing my thing so you can see me. I'll post them when we can wrangle a photographer for the day :)

I got shot!!!

OK, I'm being a bit dramatic...but I did have to go down to GEB to get 2 shots! Mom showed me around and told me this is where I will live after I leave her. That better not be anytime soon-I love my mom!!! I met some of the trainers and kennel staff, as well as the vets. They all seemed really cool so I know I'll have fun when I get there. I talked to a few dogs who were in training and they all told me how cool it was, so I'm getting a little excited to start the next part of my life!

Puppy Class

I got to come home to Mom at puppy class this week. My swap family let me play outside while Mom was helping in class, so I was good and tired when it was time for my class. I met the new class teacher-she gave me cookies so I like her. We did a bunch of new games which were pretty cool. Mom made me work with a sitter for class, she seemed alright but I was glad to go home with my Mom!

I found out my pal Stanton is leaving! I am so sad, I adore him! We have had so many fun times together, I really hope I'll see him down at GEB.

Another Swap

I thought I made myself clear the last time, I HATE SWAPS!!! Mom just did not get it, so she sent me on another one! Luckily I went to a family I have already stayed with. They adore me, so I guess I can put up with them for a week. Their puppy, Oasis, went home with Mom. I was so jealous! I did have a good time with her family, though. They have a bunch of other pets, including another dog, and a great back yard. Maybe swaps aren't the worst thing ever...

Mom asked me to post these Oasis pix so you can see her. Apparently we are basically twins in both looks and behavior so it was an easy swap for the humans!

Horse Show

Mom finally let me off house arrest and we celebrated with a trip to watch my Grandma compete on her horse, Ernie. When I first met Ernie I woofed a few times to let him know that just because I am small doesn't mean I'm not sassy! He backed up, so I know he got the message. After our initial meeting, Mom and I went to a heated room (it was a cold morning!) and watched Grandma and Ernie compete. They did great!

When they finished with their events we headed outside. Ernie wanted to eat some grass and I wanted to play with the farm doggies. We had a blast together but they had to leave after a bit, so Mom took the opportunity to snap a few Fall photos.

Before we left, all four of us snuck into the ring for a quick picture. I think it came out well!

I was tired after my busy morning, so we went home and napped. I guess I was out of working form!
